Sunday Song for Moms

by | May 12, 2013 | Uncategorized

Happy Mother’s Day!  Today I’m going to keep it short and sweet.  To me, Natalie Merchant’s song, Kind and Generous, has always made me think of my own mother.  I’d always considered myself to be a fairly grateful kid, but I never really understood the magnitude of the love and sacrifice a mother gives until I became one myself.  Now my gratitude can hardly be expressed in words, but this song comes close.

Rather than recite the entire lyric, I’ll simply write out the first verse:

You’ve been so kind and generous,
I don’t know how you keep on giving.
For your kindness, I’m in debt to you.
For you selflessness, my admiration.
And for everything you’ve done,
You know I’m bound…
I’m bound to thank you for it.

I think this song is the ultimate Mother’s Day tune…so take a listen and share it with the other women in your life!
